Since we have upcoming holidays, a few home works have been provided to the students to strengthen their skills.

1. Read all the sentences in the vakyalu sheet along with a  parent. A hard copy is provided in the class. Soft copy can be found here

2. A hard copy is provided in the class with simple arithmetic. Students are supposed to fill it in Telugu only.

3. Family relationships: Students are expected to read all the family relationships in the given hard copy with a parent. Then, the blanks in the cover page need to be filled. Parents, please ensure that you work with your child on this.

4. Reading the two stories: Hard copy is provided in the class with Telugu script for the stories. The stories will be read by students in next class as well and I hope to see a level of fluency in reading the stories.

Kids had a lot of fun with pizza & cake on the occasion of Swami's birthday.

Story

In the available time, we discussed the moral story of a tiger and a man. We discussed each area of the story in detail and discussed on what are a few things to learn from each stage. Finally, we discussed about the moral of the story.

Thanksgiving Holiday for the coming 2 Sundays. Next class would be on December 2.
     
Homework

There are several home works that the students did not return. Parents, please work with your child to get the uncompleted home works completed. The mid term exam will have the syllabus covered until this week.

Review of homework from last week

Homework from last week was reviewed. Correct sentence construction was discussed for each sentence and meaning was explained. A few new words were also discussed. 
Parents, please review this with your children. As you continue to speak to them in Telugu, they will become more fluent with the sentence construction. 

Story

The story పొగరుగల గొర్రె పోతు from printout. I noticed that the kids were still struggling to read from the printout, taking a long time for each sentence. So, we paused the reading and decided to continue with simpler sentences from next week onwards.

Learning how to question

The following question words were discussed and how to translate sentences in English to Telugu
How (ఎలా, ఎంత, ఎన్ని సార్లు), why (ఎందుకు) and when (ఎప్పుడు)

Story

nakka - draakshapaLLu (నక్క - ద్రాక్షపళ్ళు ) story with meaning. This was connected to the sameta అందని ద్రాక్షపళ్ళు పుల్లన

The story printout was distributed. You can find it here.
Students were asked to read the story నక్క - ద్రాక్షపళ్ళు line by line and were helped as needed. Please work with the students to read the whole story with you again. As they slowly get used to the cult of reading Telugu, repetition would help.

పొగరుగల గొర్రె పోతు story was discussed. This will be read by the students in the next class.

sametalu - 

The following sametalu were revised. These sametalu were used in the real-life context. Parents, please try to use these sametalu by discussing with the students about some real life contexts.

Concept of saametalu (సామెతలు) introduced. First the English proverb "Grass looks greener on the other side" was taken and explained.
