What did we cover in the class?
Core Activity
1. Deep dive into నిశ్చయార్ధక sentences. We discussed about a few examples in English and translated them into Telugu (please refer to homework for those sentences). Also, we took a newspaper article, read the contents and tried to understand the నిశ్చయార్ధక sentences in the article.
2. వచనము (ఏక, బహు), - practice - Along with this, we will learn new vocabulary about animals and birds

3. Reading simple sentences - through a story
1. For each word in ఏక, బహు వచనము (mentioned above), write the English word, corresponding Telugu word and the plural form. Considering that the kids have a holiday this week, this homework is highly recommended but not required. All these words in singular and plural forms would be important for mid term exam

3. Read the following paragraph and send your voice recording to the Madhyama WhatsApp group as a part of your homework.
మోదుగ ఒక ఎర్రని పూవు. ఈ పువ్వులను అగ్నిపూలు అని పిలుస్తారు. ఈ చెట్టు ఒక పెద్ద వృక్షంలాగా పెరుతుంది. అందమైన ఎర్రని పూలు గుత్తులు గుత్తులుగా పూస్తాయి. నారింజరంగుతో, ఎర్రని గుత్తుల ఈ పూలు కనువిందుచేస్తూ తమాషాగా వుంటాయి. కొక్కేలలాగా, కొద్దిగా చిలుకముక్కుల్లాగా ఉంటూ ఈ పూలు, ఆకులే కనిపించనట్లు నిండుగాపూస్తాయి, చాలా అందంగా వుంటాయి. మోదుగ చెట్టును కింశుక వృక్షము అని కూడ అంటారు. అంతేకాక భారతీయభాషల్లో దీనిపేర్లు ఇలావున్నాయి.
సంస్కృతంలో పలాశ అనీ, హిందీ లో పలశ్ అనీ, తెలుగులో మోదుగ, మోదుగు అనీ అంటారు. మలయాళంలో మురికు, శమత , బ్రీమ వృక్షం అనీ, తమిళం లో పొరొసం, కత్తుమురుక అనీ, కన్నడంలో ముథుగ, బ్రహవృక్ష అనీ అంటారు. పంజాబ్, హర్యానాల్లో కాకాక్ అనీ, ఒరియాలో కింజుకొ, పొరసు అనీ అంటారు. అంటే, ఇన్ని భాషల్లో ఇన్ని పేర్లున్న ఈ మోదుగ దేశవ్యాప్తంగా వున్నట్లు ఋజువవుతున్నది కదా!
మోదుగ ఎత్తుగా పైకి పెరిగే వృక్షం. ఈ చెట్టు దాదాపు 15 మీటర్ల ఎత్తు వరకు పెరుగుతుంది. ఈ చెట్టు పెరుగుదల నిదానంగా ఉంటుంది.
