Students are expected to work with parents. First, parents read a paragraph (given below) and the students write. Next, the students themselves read it.
The 2 paragraphs below - both must be practiced

బాలుడు - వీణ వాయించే తోడేలు
ఒక బాలుడు తన తోటి వారితో ఒక ఊరి నుంచి ఇంకో ఊరికి అడవి గుండా వెళుతూ వెనకపడ్డాడు. ఒక తోడేలు అతనిని పట్టుకోటానికి వెంటపడింది. బాలుడు భయపడ్డాడు. కాని కొంచెం ధైర్యం తెచ్చుకొని తోడేలుతో ఇలా అన్నాడు. "ఎలాగూ నేను నీకు ఆహారమే. నువ్వు వీణ వాయిస్తే నేను నృత్యం చేస్తాను. ఇది నా చివరి కోరిక". తోడేలు సరే అని అక్కడ పక్కగా పడి వున్న వీణ వాయించడం మొదలు పెట్టింది. బాలుడు నృత్యం చేయసాగాడు.


అంతలో గొడవ విని వేటకుక్కలు తోడేలు వెంట పడ్డాయి. బాలుడు హమ్మయ్య అని తప్పించుకున్నాడు

నీతులు:
1. అక్కర్లేనివి పట్టించుకుని అందుకోపోతే చేతికొచ్చిన అవకాశం జారిపోతుంది
2. ఉపాయం తో అపాయాన్ని తప్పించుకోవచ్చు

కుక్క, కోడిపుంజు, నక్క

ఒక కుక్క, కోడిపుంజు స్నెహంగా ఉండేవి. ఒకరోజు అవి రెండూ కలిసి ఆడుకుని తరువాత కోడిపుంజు చెట్టు కొమ్మ మీద, కుక్క చెట్టు తొర్రలో నిద్ర పోయాయి. ఇంతలో ఒక నక్క వచ్చి "కోడి బావ నువ్వు ఎంత బాగా పాడతావో, నిన్ను ఒక్క సారి కౌగిలించుకుంటాను వస్తావా" అంది. కోడికి నక్క అసలు కోరిక అర్థమయ్యింది. "నువ్వు చెట్టు తొర్రలోని కాపలాదారుని లేపు. అలాగే వచ్చి నిన్ను కౌగిలించుకుంతాను" అని కోడి అంది. నక్క గట్టిగా ఊళ పెట్టి తొర్రలోకి చూసే సరికి కుక్క బయటికి వచ్చి నక్కని చంపి తినేసింది.

నీతి:అపాయాన్ని ఉపాయంతో గెలవాలి

One of the students explained his writing about navaratri, Deepavali and his fictitious conversation with his uncle when his uncle visits his home. Another student will do the same in next class.

Padyam
Revision of poem Sri Raghurama padyam - first padaym from Dasaradhi Satakam. Next week students would be asked to recite in the class. Parents, please work with the students to have the poem recited a few times. This would be important for the midterm exam.

Reading
Reading part-2 (last part) of the story of telivigala kaaki. This week's homework is based on the story. You can find a soft copy of the story here

It was puzzling to hear the responses when I asked the question - What do you know about Ramadasu?
The answers were - 
       "I am not sure I know him. May be my neighbor or his son"
       "I don't know him"
       "Perhaps I met him in Howdy Modi last week"

I told the students the story of Sri Ramadasu and why he was a great devotee, saint and poet.

We worked on warming up with the concepts discussed last year.
    Students discussed about their impressions about the following

            Why did our ancestors say that? Do you agree? Why? All conversation was in Telugu.

    Dictation with a few words involving gunintams and vattulu. This will continue next week also
